π‘ new: indoor seed starting video + shopping list available! π‘
somethin' fun for your gloomy thursday
Hi friends! This is not the weekly newsletter, but I wanted to send out a quick note to let you know of something I finally put together:
After teaching this at Reynolda Gardens and a few virtual events, I finally made my Indoor Seed Starting Class available for anyone, anywhere, all the time!
Note: If you will not be starting indoors this year or next, you can just delete this email straightaway and be about your business.
The hardest thing when planning events is to find a time that works for everyone β but I realized if I started compiled all the materials and recorded them, you could watch a class while the kids are sleeping, on a lunch break, or in 15 minute increments whenever you can steal the time. π€― π
The second hardest thing to do is price stuff. I dislike it more than anything else. I have to make sure I can afford eggs (seriously the TikTok videos about this have really gotten out of hand haha), but I also want everyone to have access all of the time, because you too have to afford the eggs. π
Anyway, this class is currently $17 and will likely go up one day, but for today, please enjoy the rate and get access to it if youβ¦
Want to start growing cut flowers (the vast majority must be started indoors)
Want to start growing year round and not just during summer
Are trying to collect skills on your path towards homesteading
Want to grow indoors to survive seasonal depression
Are already growing indoors but itβs not working well
Want to grow indoors starting next year but want to give yourself this year to collect second-hand materials to mitigate costs
One very, very helpful thing that I added to this class is an actual shopping list (with links!) to every product mentioned that I have tested/recommend, so that you do not have to spend one single minute searching for stuff on this internet that gets harder to sift through every day.
If you are in the triad, I also give local recommendations of where to pick up several items.
This is a 1 hour video and takes about 2 clicks to access (You do not have to create any accounts or nonsense).

Lastly, I am honored to have such kind reviews from several people I admire β in case you are on the fence about if this is a good fit for you or not:
π©π» "I went from feeling lost to believing I am a pro! I have a plan,Β shopping list, knowledge and confidence to successfully start seeds indoors." - Lee, first time gardener
π§π» "This course will give anyone the confidence and solid foundation needed to start their own garden. As a professional in the horticulture industry who has used Lauren's research to improve my techniques, I fully recommend this course to anyone, regardless of skill level." - Joey, industry grower
π©π»βπ¦° "This class is very well organized and thoroughly researched. Valuable for novice and experienced gardeners! The entire process is explained with tried and true options - and recommendations respectful of the budget." - Mabel, experienced gardener
In class, I will answerβ¦
Whatβs the best shelving set up?
What grow lights should I use? White or purple? Which brand?
Do I really need heat mats and domes?
Whatβs the best seed starting mix?
Do I need to fertilize and when?
Where should I put the growing station?
What do I do about fungus knats? Leggy seedlings? Watering?
β¦and more π€
So excited for all the cute lil bb trays in 60 days!! π±
See you in a day or two for this weekβs regularly scheduled programming. :)
